I drew it using a Niihau momi shell I have in my collection, creating a Japanese yabane pattern that flows southeast, the same direction the shells travel from Niihau to reach me, so I can use them in my jewelry. The yabane pattern symbolizes forward motion with no return, just like the journey of the momi shells from Niihaus shores, to me, and then on to their new homes with my
